# Junior Gearing

For all junior competition on the road and the track there are gear restrictions that apply up to and including Under 17 Age Categories

## Rollout Distances for each Age Category

The rollout distance is the distance that a bike travels in one revolution of the pedal crank in the biggest gear available.

• Under 9/11/13 – 5.5 metres
• Under 15           – 6.0 metres
• Under 17           – 7.0 metres

The rollout distance maybe achieve by blocking off the rear derailleur, however for Under 15 and Under 17 riders blocking off will only be permitted for club events.

## Gearing Chart

The following gear charts shows the gearing combinations available to achieve the maximum rollout criteria.  These values are based on a standard 700C 23mm tyre.  Actual rollouts may differ depending on the wheel rim and the tyre fitted.
